Start and finish: Jardin Public

Turn-by-turn directions

  1. START

Start on the Central Esplanade at the main central arch near the open lawn. A child-friendly start arch, announcers, music and a separate warm-up area are recommended.

  2. LAPS 1–6

Complete six laps of the designated 500-metre enclosed circuit. Children remain within Jardin Public for the entire race.

  3. TURN 1

Follow the tree-lined eastern perimeter walkway, parallel to Avenue du 18 Septembre. Course marshals guide runners and keep them inside the park boundary.

  4. TURN 2

Curve around the northern loop, parallel to Avenue de Janvier near the northern gate. Keep the shaded pathway clear and follow the directional signs towards the western boundary.

  5. TURN 3

Follow the western inner path alongside Avenue Pierre Ngendandumwe and sweep back towards the central square.

  6. LAP ZONE

Pass the lap-counting zone after every circuit. Use wristbands, rubber stamps or punch cards so officials can accurately record all six laps.

  7. FINISH

After Lap 6, turn right into the marked finish funnel at the Central Esplanade.

Water points

Committee-approved water points; follow signs and staff on race day.

  • AFTER EACH LAPApproved low-height hydration tables immediately after the lap zone. Use half-full 150–200 ml paper cups, with large waste bins 10–20 metres beyond the tables to reduce tripping and bottlenecks.
